If I were a cloud, I'd be any shape you wanted.
If I were a ghost, with only love you would be haunted.
If I were the sky, for you I'd never be but blue.
If I were the night, I'd bring out all the stars for you.
If I were the sun, I'd give you all my rays.
If I were a year, I'd give you all my days.
If I were the sea, I'd always follow you ashore.
If I were the air, I'd always make sure you had more.
But I am only a man, writing nonsense in the dark.
I must always keep in mind, a bleeding heart attracts the sharks.
